Luna Park, Olcott Beach
Luna Park was a waterfront amusement park operating from 1898 to 1926 on Lake Ontario's shore in Olcott Beach, New York, distinguished by its emphasis on swimming, live entertainment at the Dreamland Dance Hall, and modest mechanical rides rather than major roller coasters, predating the more famous Coney Island Luna Park. The venue flourished as a transit hub for steamboats and interurban trains until the rise of automobile travel in the 1920s led to its decline, ending with its destruction in a 1927 fire.
