What we collect

Usage analytics. We use privacy- conscious analytics to understand which pages are visited and how the site performs (page views, referrers, approximate region, device type). This is aggregate and is not used to identify you.

Your ride list (“My Rides”). The coasters you mark as ridden, your ride counts and any optional notes are stored in your own browser using localStorage. They stay on your device and are not sent to our servers unless and until you opt into account sync (a feature that does not exist yet). Clearing your browser storage erases this list.

Reviews & a device ID. When you post a review or rating without an account, we generate a random “device ID” stored in your browser and saved alongside the review. It lets us attribute the review to you (so you can edit or delete it) without asking for a login or email. It is a random identifier — it does not contain your name, email or location.

Things you submit. If you suggest a coaster, park or correction, we store what you type, plus the optional name you provide for credit. Don’t include private information in submissions.

We do not require an account to use any feature of the site, and we don’t ask for your name, email or payment details to browse, track rides, or leave reviews.

Advertising & affiliate links

The site is supported by advertising and affiliate links — there are no subscriptions or paywalls, ever.

Display ads. We may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may use prior visits to this and other sites to show relevant ads. We block sensitive categories (political, gambling, weight-loss/diet, alcohol, dating and adult content). You can control personalized advertising through Google's Ad Center.

Affiliate links. “Buy tickets” buttons may be affiliate links to ticket sellers (such as Undercover Tourist) and affiliate networks (such as FlexOffers and Go City). If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. These partners may set cookies to attribute a purchase to us. Affiliate links are marked rel="sponsored".

Cookies & similar technologies

We use a small number of first-party storage items for the site to work — remembering your cookie-consent choice, your ride list and your review device ID. Third-party cookies may be set by Google AdSense (advertising) and by affiliate partners (purchase attribution) as described above. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, and you can clear cookies and site data at any time in your browser settings.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We don’t build advertising profiles ourselves. The only third parties that receive data are the analytics, advertising and affiliate providers named above, acting to deliver their service.

Data retention

Your ride list and review device ID live in your browser until you clear them. Reviews and community submissions are retained while the entry exists on the site (you can ask us to remove yours). Aggregate analytics are kept only as long as needed to understand trends. We retain only what’s necessary to run the site.

Your rights & choices

You can clear your ride list and review identity at any time by clearing this site’s storage in your browser. You can opt out of personalized ads via Google’s Ad Center. Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA) you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us — we’ll honor valid requests.

Children

CoasterRidr is a general-audience site and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
