Marineland of Canada
Marineland of Canada was a zoo and amusement park in Niagara Falls, Ontario that operated from 1961 to 2024, featuring marine animal shows and exhibits alongside amusement rides before its closure following decades of controversy over its captive marine mammal collection. Founded by Slovenian immigrant John Holer, the facility housed dolphins, sea lions, beluga whales, orcas, and land animals, but faced sustained opposition from animal rights organizations and government restrictions that ultimately led to its shutdown and plans to relocate its remaining animals.
