Playland was a 10-acre seaside amusement park located in San Francisco's Richmond District along the Great Highway adjacent to Ocean Beach, operating from the late 19th century until its closure in 1972. The park evolved from an informal collection of rides and concessions and was known for its long tenure as a popular West Coast beach amusement destination serving generations of Bay Area visitors.
